Robert S. Hobbs is a partner in Sperry Van Ness | Lillie & Associates and serves as a Managing Director for the company. He specializes in buyer representation for all types of investment properties and clients nationwide. With over 40 years of real estate experience Hobbs brings knowledge of ownership, brokerage, consulting, financing, management, leasing, acquisitions & dispositions, and syndication to our team of Advisors.

Prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Hobbs served as vice chairman and chief financial officer for a major tax shelter syndicate, where he negotiated, acquired and structured numerous syndicated properties. Previously, Hobbs operated his own real estate brokerage, syndication and consulting firm in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Dallas, Texas, and San Jose, California. Before entering the real estate field Hobbs served as corporate controller of a national mining company and was a certified public accountant for an international CPA firm.

Active in the real estate community, Hobbs sits on the board of a Florida based Real Estate Investment Trust. He earned a Master of Business Administration in finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from the University of Michigan.
